Posey County Humane Society has moved to a new home!
It is at 6500 Leonard Rd., in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, just north of Highway 62 East to Evansville. The building used to be known as Oak Unlimited.
Posey Humane Society now has possession of the new building and is still in the process of remodeling it. The anticipated opening for the new PCHS is summer 2008 - most likely August. Keep watching this site for information as the process continues to its completion!
The dream is becoming a reality. It's just taking a little bit more time and a LOT more money due to things beyond our control.

Adopting a friend
PCHS requires an approved adoption application prior to the adoption and a $75 fee for any cat or dog. This fee goes towards a spay/neuter voucher, age appropriate shots and a general worming for the animal. Adult dogs are also tested for heartworms. Please come visit the animal of your choice and fill out an adoption application. Processing usually takes only 24 hours or less unless the animal is on our special breed list or there are difficulties in making the necessary contacts. Thank you for giving an animal a second chance!
