RECYCLE CARTRIDGES FOR RECYCLED PETS - is a fundraiser where we collect empty inkjet and laser printer and fax cartridges for recycling. This is a way for us to raise funds for the Pet Adoption Center and also to protect the environment.
Who We Are
The Dubois County Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1974. The present Pet Adoption Center was built in 1989. The Humane Society is NOT funded by any government agency and all income is derived through donations, memberships and fundraisers. The Pet Adoption Center is staffed by two part-time persons and numerous volunteers. Our volunteers investigate many neglect/abuse complaints, handle adoptions, do fundraisers and everything associated with a Pet Adoption Center. .
Adopting a friend
Every animal adopted from the Dubois County Humane Society has been heartworm tested (dogs) FIV tested (cats), vaccinated, wormed and has had Revolution Flea and Tick/Heartworm control applied. Most animals are already spayed/neutered before adoption but puppies/kittens adopted from DCHS MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All potential adopters must fill out an adoption application. When the application is approved, the adopter must sign a contract agreeing to specific items regarding the care of the animal. The adoption fee for dogs is $75 (includes a free spay/neuter certificate for unaltered dogs); for cats it's $55 (includes a free spay/neuter certificate for unaltered cats). We have a large fenced area where time can be spent with a pet before an adoption decision is made.

We are located in Jasper, Indiana at 426 Wernsing Road which is on the south side of Jasper, one block off Hwy. 231.
