Who We Are

We are a non-profit organization and have been serving the residents of Seymour, IN for close to 25 years. Due to our small size and the fact that we have a contract with the city of Seymour, at the present time, we are only able to take strays from within the city limits. We care for these animals, in hopes of finding their owners or getting them new homes. If you have lost an animal, have found one, or are looking for a new pet, please give us a call! If you would like to come see the animals that we have available for adoption, we are open from 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00 Monday through Friday and 3:30-5:30 on Saturday.

Adoption Policies

***Please realize, that although we will consider applications received from anywhere within the continental U.S. (as you do not have to live in Jackson Co. to adopt from us), we will not transport any animal via any aircraft. Also, due to a lack of staffing and funding, we cannot provide ground transportation to get an animal to its adoptive home.***

If you are outside of the Seymour area and would like to apply for one of our animals, you can fill out an applicaion online by following the link at the top of the page. Please, only fill out the application if you are seriously considering adding a particular animal to your home and life.

If you come visit us and find an animal that you would like to have, we do have an adoption process. This is to ensure that the animal will get a good home. We have an application that you will need to fill out. It will take us 1-3 business days to review the application. If you are approved, we will give you a call and will set up an appointment for you to come pick up your new best friend and sign the adoption agreement. Adoption fees are $40 for cats/kittens. You will then receive a $40 spay/neuter certificate. Adoption fees are $50 for dogs/puppies and you will receive a $50 spay/neuter certificate. It is required that you have this done. Before you come get your pet, it will be started on its first shots. After the adoption, we are available to you if you have any problems with the animal. Just give us a call and we'll try to help correct the problem. We want to make sure that the pet and person are truly happy together!

Seymour is located about an hour north of Louisville, KY and an hour south of Indianapolis, IN off of Interstate 65. If you get off of 65 at the Seymour exit, you will be on Highway 50. Take Highway 50 towards Brownstown. You will go all the way through Seymour. At the far end of Seymour, you will see a Jay C grocery store on the left. Go past the store and you will get to a three-way stoplight. There will be a bank on the corner. Turn left at the stoplight. You will now be on Airport Road . Go down that road until you see a brick wall that splits the road in half. Go around the wall and there is a little road off to the right. We are down that road about 1/2 mile on the left.
