LaGrange County Animal Shelter will soon be transporting pets to Pet Refuge's ABC Spay/neuter clinic in Granger, Indiana.This will ensure that all pets adopted from the shelter are spayed and neutered!
Who We Are
The LaGrange County Animal Shelter is a small facility that serves the rural community of LaGrange County Indiana. We are very rescue friendly, we take our dogs and cats to off site adoption events on a regular basis, and we run as many adoption specials as we can, in many cases there are no adoption fees with an approved, qualified application. We want our pets to be placed in homes as soon as possible so that they can start their new lives as a loved and cherished member of a family. We euthanize only for temperament issues and illness or injury that is hopeless. We are only able to accept dogs from LaGrange County, and we do require that ID is provided to prove you are a LaGrange County Resident.
We feed Science Diet and we are currently enrolled in the "Shelter, Food, and Love program". We can always use donations of canned food for cats and dogs chew toys, cat toys, cat furniture~ new or used, paper towels, laundry soap and bleach, kennels and crates, bedding, towels, and new or used pet beds.
Currently, we need some Kuranda Dog Beds for our dogs. Please consider donating one from this Petfinder site at a discount. Thank you for caring!!
Adopting a friend
We do adopt pets to qualified applicants in other counties or states. We have pets that have been adopted and live in Nebraska, Mississippi, and several other states. As long as you have a good application that has been approved, we welcome adoptions from everyone!
Our adoption fees vary from $0 on "free adoption Saturday (the first Saturday of the month) to $175.00, depending upon age and if the pet is currently spayed or neutered or will be required to be spayed or neutered by six months of age.

We are located 1/2 of a mile west of State Road 9 on C.R. 300 South in LaGrange, IN 46761. From the north, take the toll road (or highway 20) to Highway 9 and turn south. The shelter is approximately 4 miles south of the town of LaGrange and you will turn right on CR300S. From the south, take Highway 6 to Highway 9 and turn north. You will pass through Rome City and Wolcottvile. It is approximately 5 miles from Wolcottville. As you pass the small town of Valentine begin looking to your left for CR300.
Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9am to -4 pm. We are closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, and all Government Holiday's.
