Top Ten Reasons to Adopt an Older Dog 

Housetrained

1. Older dogs are housetrained. You won't have to go through the difficult stage(s) of teaching a puppy house manners and mopping/cleaning up after accidents.

Won't chew inappropriate items

2. Older dogs are not teething puppies, and won't chew your shoes and furniture while growing up.

Focus to learn

3. Older dogs can focus well because they've mellowed. Therefore, they learn quickly.

Know what "no" means

4. Older dogs have learned what "no" means. If they hadn't learned it, they wouldn't have gotten to be "older" dogs.

Settle in with the "pack"

5. Older dogs settle in easily, because they've learned what it takes to get along with others and become part of a pack.

Good at giving love

6. Older dogs are good at giving love, once they get into their new, loving home. They are grateful for the second chance they've been given.

Adopting A Friend

Our mission is to be sure that the dogs in our care are never homeless again. Therefore, we exert our best efforts to ensure a perfect match between the dog and the applicants. If you see a pet you would like to adopt, please email Dog.Rescue @ hotmail.com for an application. All potential adopters are required to complete the Adoption Application and review & sign our Adoption Policies and Procedures Statement. Home visits prior to adoption are required and will be arranged after a completed application has been approved by our adoption volunteer. All of Underdog's animals are fully vetted prior to adoption, including spay/neutered,and vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella. They are also heartworm tested, wormed and microchipped.

We do not do "Same Day" adoptions. 

Generally, we do not adopt to families with children under the age of 5, for the sake of all concerned. Exceptions may be made, depending on our working knowledge of the dog.

If your application is not completely filled out and/or your current or previous pets are not up-to-date on their vaccinations and heartworm preventative and/or have not been spayed/neutered, then your adoption application may be denied without proceeding to the next step of the adoption process, unless there is a medical reason that can be verified.

We will never ship or fly a dog anywhere, so don't ask us. We may be able to meet you at a ½ way point between the foster home & your town.

We regret that we cannot "hold" dogs for you. After your application is submitted, please be prepared to meet and adopt the dog quickly; other homeless dogs, who might otherwise be euthanized, are waiting for rescue space. We thank you for your understanding.

Who We Are

We are a Foster Home Organization. All of our Springer's are housed in a loving home environment, learning & reinforcing basic obedience, house-training and how to be a good all-round dog friend.   

• We do not have a Shelter Facility. 
• We do not have a kennel. 
• We are not dog breeders. 

We find new homes for abandoned, orphaned, forgotten and unwanted Springers. Everyone involved with Blaze & Saddles Springer Rescue volunteers their homes, their love and their time because of their loyalty to this breed
