Our Adoptable Pet List

Who We Are

The Knox County Humane Society has been a local 501 3 C non-profit organization for over 35 years. We are dedicated to ending pet overpopulation by hosting low cost spay/neuter clinics, carrying out a trap neuter return program, and educating the youth and adults of Knox County Indiana about responsible pet ownership. We rescue animals in cooperation with the local law enforcement agencieswhen needed and help provide medical assistance when the owners of pets are unable to be contacted in the case of an emergency/accident with dogs and cats.

Adopting a friend

In order to adopt a dog or cat threw us we require you to fill out an application. There is a 24 to 48 hour waiting period so whomever can go home and have time to think on whether they are ready or not to adopt a pet. Adopting a pet to us is like adopting a new child. We want only the best homes for our animals.
