News
Donations help defray medical costs from dogs like Halo, Jake, and Liberty who all needed eyes removed, or dogs like Jasper who came in not only with a bb shot in his shoulder but also heartworm positive. Moose, Nessa, and Zeke are some of our other heartworm positive dogs. There is also Moxie, who suffered a stroke.
In 2008 we had a dog with a shattered leg, which required extensive surgery, another dog with a broken front leg, which needed to be amputated, a puppy who had been severely bitten in the throat, an adult dog who was attacked while at animal control, and 6 heartworm positive dogs. We also treated two puppies for parvo, did an emergency run for a dog who had his tail chopped off, and took in a 14 year-old lab who had been found on the side of the road. Without your help, none of this is possible. We rely on donations and receive no tax dollars or other assistance.
We are also collecting donations to help cover the cost of dogs and cats to be spayed and neutered by families in need. The smallest donation goes a long way!
Who We Are
We are a small but dedicated group of volunteers providing in-home foster care for dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes that have come from open-admission shelters. Our pets are all spayed or neutered (puppies too young to be altered are released on a strict contract), are given initial vaccines, a rabies shot, dewormed, and most are microchipped.
The majority of our dogs were picked up on their "due date", or the day they were supposed to be euthanized. We have had dogs that have come from gassing shelters, from small county shelters, and larger city shelters. We take in dogs who would be destroyed because the shelter has no space or means to provide medical attention. Most of our intake is under a year old and the dogs we have are homeless for many reasons, few of which are their fault.
We have many ways to volunteer from fostering to adoption events as well as crafty people who want to donate items to sell at our adoptions. Please contact us for info on ways to help!
