We are trying to find loving homes for all the animals we can. We work very hard to keep our website up to date so that the animals have a better chance!
Adopting a friend
To adopt from out shelter all you need to do is stop in and fill out some paper work. All of our animals get fixed after the adoption. You will need to contact western have to set up the appointment .
-Think about adopting and the changes it will do to your life. A puppy or kitten will need lots of love and training. Adult dogs and cats are set in their ways and you will have to help them adjust to a new life. Think about the food you will feed and how healthy it is for your new pet. Talk to the vet you are planning to use about up coming shots and checkups. You will want your new pet to be checked out by a vet before you take them home. You need to start them on heartworm preventive and flea preventive. Pets are a big responsibility and to be sure you want to adopt one be fully prepared for the changes you will face and the love you will receive!
After Adopting
When you bring your new pet home you will need to introduce your new pet to any pets you have. This is best done outside of the home, and not in a area your pet is in a lot (example: back yards, try to introduce them in the front yard). Keep both pets on leashes and slowly let them get to know one another. Here at MACC we have a outside visitation space so that you can bring in your pet to meet a pet. After you feel comfortable enough you can let them play but be careful to watch them.
Our Mascot
Dylon is a 5 year old Weimaraner. He goes to all of our fundraisers and with the Animal Control Officers to schools. He was saved about 1 1/2 years ago when we found him tied to a pole. He a a big fatty tumor on his chest & heart worms. Luckily someone donated the money to have the tumor removed and his heartworms treated. He loves treats and will great you at the door
