We always need fosters, and look to you for help! Fostering saves 3 lives: the pet you adopt out, the new foster you bring home, and the homeless pet who now has room to stay in the shelter. Even if you can’t commit to becoming the lifelong companion of a homeless dog or cat right now, you can still make a huge difference for the better! Consider fostering an animal for a few weeks or months, just until a permanent home can be found.
Roscoe's Rescue is a foster-only rescue. This means we do not (yet!) have a facility, and we rely on volunteers to keep pets in their homes until they are adopted. Fostering a pet is a big commitment, however temporary it may be. Our fostering program is designed to place shelter animals in a nurturing environment in the comfort of your home allowing the fostered pets to grow, heal, socialize and become/remain adoptable while they wait for their “forever home”. Experience has shown that the foster program dramatically increases the chances of a pet being adopted and allows us to continue our fight against the euthanasia of adoptable animals.
Who We Are
The rescue is named in honor of a sweet gray kitten adopted from a high-kill shelter who died in August 2007. We strive to promote spaying and neutering of pets and strays, reducing overpopulation, and try to find suitable homes for the hundreds of unwanted pets who cross our threshold. We also work with cooperating animal shelters to place some of their animals before they have to be euthanized for lack of space.
Adopting a friend
Our standard adoption fees are as follows:
Cats: $65
Senior cats: $35
Dogs: $105
Puppies: $120
Senior dogs: $55
Please email us with your interest and we will send you an adoption application and contract. All animals will be spayed or neutered and all age-appropriate vaccinations will be given before adoption is finalized.
Roscoe's Rescue has each animal's happiness at heart. We know that a pet may not fit in as well as everyone had hoped. If you are considering adopting a pet, please talk to your shelter or rescue about options if it doesn't "click." All Roscoe's Rescue animals can be returned to us within 7 days for a full refund of the adoption fees, no questions asked. And, at any time during the pet's life, if circumstances change and you can no longer care for your pet that was adopted from Roscoe's Rescue, we ask that you return the pet to us for re-placement.
