Who We Are
We are the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County{the local animal shelter). Our mission statement: ''Among the goals of the AWL are the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, the extension of humane education and the adherence to federal, state and local statutes. It is the policy of the league to provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection within Kosciusko County, Indiana; to seek to return lost animals to their owners; to seek suitable homes for animals without owners; and to provide euthanasia when necessary. Adopting a friend
Adoption fees are $100 for dogs and puppies, $50.00 for cats,and $50.00 for ferrets if we have them.
There is an adoption form/contract. All dogs/puppies are vaccinated for Distemper, Parvovirus, Coronavirus, Leptospirosis & Bordetella. All dogs 6 months and older are also tested for heartworms. All pets are spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home. All our cats/kittens are vaccinated for Rhinotracheitis, Calcivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia, Psittaci, and Bordella(if necessary). All cats 6 months or older are also tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids. For more information on our adoption policies go to this link

Please use the kennel card number(if listed)for the pet your interested in when calling the shelter or e-mailing. Please Note: Most of the animals we place up for adoption have come to us with little or no background information. Due to this we cannot guarantee the health, age, breed or temperament of any of the animals adopted from our facility. Please keep this information in mind when adopting from any shelter or rescue organization.

NEW HOURS:The shelter is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:30am-5:00 pm and Thursday and Friday 11:30 -6 :00 and Saturday from 11:30am-$:00 pm. We are closed Sunday and Monday.
