Hi! We were a litter of six... now we're a litter of five. We are 12 weeks old and our mother is a German Shepherd crossed with Blue Heeler. Our daddy is a Jack Russel Terrier. We are very smart, easy to train; gonna be medium size, laid back disposition, spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated and ready to go to our good forever homes. We have partnered up with Hill's Science Diet - Every animal adopted from the HEART Humane Society shelter will go to their new forever home with a free, 4-pound bag of Science Diet.
As always, our animals are up to date on their shots and spayed/neutered before they leave our shelter. For information on any of our animals, please call 812.952.1713.
R.C. and Crooner are just two of the "rescued calamities" with severe injuries that have been brought in to the HEART Humane Shelter. HEART gladly pays for their surgery and medical care and then brings them back to our shelter until they have fully recovered and can be placed for adoption.
A special account has been set up for dogs & cats that are badly injured but with surgery they can lead normal, productive lives. If you can make a donation to Rescued Calamity's surgery, please make a check payable to "HEART Adoption Account" and write "For R.C. Surgery" in the memo. Who We Are...
Harrison Educational Animal Responsibility Team
HEART Humane Society, Inc. was founded in 1995 as a no-kill shelter and currently has about 40 members dedicated to our mission:
To establish and provide a comprehensive adoption center for Harrison County, Indiana, which will provide its charges with care until they are adopted. And to provide educational programs dealing with care, training and breeding of small animals.
Our adoption fees are $25 and up.
HEART Humane membership is $10 a year - you don't have to be a member of the HEART Humane Society to adopt a pet! We meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Harrison County Public Library in Corydon, Indiana.
We also have events throughout the year such as "HEART Walk with the Animals", in October on the Town Square in Corydon, Indiana. Look for our HEART booth at the Lanesville Heritage Festival held every September... future HEART events are announced on our Events Page.
