Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda dog bed.

Who We are: BACK-ROADS DOG RESCUE is an all breed dog rescue that was organized in January 2007 to help the local dogs of Miami and Cass counties. We will also help other surrounding counties if our foster home room allows! Because we are a small family group we can always use your help.

Back-Roads Mission
We are a small "family" of volunteers that rescues dogs from area shelters so that they may have a second chance to enjoy their life with a loving family and to be able to lead a long healthy life like they truly deserve! Our mission is to try to keep our costs low, maintain the health of the dog while saving as many homeless dogs as possible. We are a not for profit rescue that is run by loving volunteers donating their time and love!
We DO NOT have a permanent shelter building with set hours of operation, only foster homes where all our rescued dogs stay until they are adopted into their new "forever" homes. All potential adoptees must fill out a adoption application so that we may verify information and references prior to viewing and adopting the dogs. 100% of the money from our adoption fees is used to pay vet bills and purchase supplies needed to care for our rescued dogs. Since we are all volunteers who also work full-time job-we do need for you to be patient please if we are unable to immediately respond to your inquiries. If you don't reach us in person PLEASE leave your name, number and a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can!! Also, please talk slow and clear so that we may understand your message....We can not return your calls if we can not understand your message and phone number!!!
*PLEASE NOTE ; Some of our rescued dogs will need to be placed in homes that have a fenced yard, this is because of the past situations that these dogs have come from and for the dogs future safety. Back-Roads Dog Rescue DOES NOT ACCEPT invisible or underground fences as a fence to contain the dog. There have been numerous issues that have been brought to our attention with these fences and we DO NOT consider them safe for our dogs!!!*
