PLEASE HELP!!! OUR FOSTER HOMES ARE FULL AND WE HAVE MANY DOGS/PUPPIES DESPERATELY WAITING TO BE ADOPTED! PLEASE OPEN YOUR HEART AND HOME AND HELP US PLACE THESE DOGS!!! WELCOME to Back-Roads Dog Rescue and THANK YOU for visiting our site. SUMMER is the time for lots of outdoor activities and what better way to spend your time than with a new "rescued best friend!" We have a wide variety of rescued dogs in every breed, size and personality just waiting to find their new "forever" homes. Hopefully you will find a puppy or dog that would make your family complete. However, if you do not, please call (574-626-2835 or 574-732-0226) and ask if we know of a specific breed combination that you might be seeking. There are many wonderful dogs at the local pound that we simply don't have room to take but we will be happy to not only tell you about them, but also, tell you how you might adopt them directly. Who We are: Back-Roads Dog Rescue was organized in January 2007 to help the local dogs of Miami and Cass Counties, and other surrounding counties if room allows! Because we are a small family group we could use your help.
Do you love animals and want to contribute to their well being? We are currently looking for foster homes where we could place our rescued dogs. We do provide all needed supplies --including the dogs! We need help in Cass, Miami, Howard, Grant and surrounding counties where we have shelters that are full and asking for our help so they don't have to euthanize.

If you no longer have a dog, but still have supplies left from when you did-we would be happy to take them. Back-Roads Mission
We are a "family" of volunteers that rescue dogs from area shelters so they may have a second chance at having a loving family and to lead a full healthy life. Our mission is to try to keep our costs low, maintain the health of the dog while saving as many homeless dogs as possible. We are a not for profit that is run by loving volunteers.
We DO NOT have a permanent shelter with set hours of operation, but foster homes where all our rescued dogs stay until they are adopted into their new "forever" homes. All potential adoptees must fill out a adoption application so that we may verify information and references prior to viewing and adopting the dogs. 100% of the money from our adoption fees are used to pay vet bills and purchase supplies needed to care for our rescued dogs. We are all volunteers who also work full-time jobs so please be patient if we are unable to immediately respond to your inquiries. If you don't reach us in person PLEASE leave your name, number and message and we will get back to you as soon as we can!! Also, talk slow and clear enough that we can understand you, as often we can not return calls because we can't determine what the number is.
