News

We currently have five dogs in rescue right now, three of them available at present.

Our Mission

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and facilitate the adoption of Tri-State Boxers in need. We are dedicated to educating the public on the nature of the Boxer breed, and advocating for the spaying/neutering of all dogs and cats. We strive to address the needs of Boxer owners regarding behavioral issues, breeding and neglect/abuse. Our hope is to someday eliminate the need for a purebred Boxer Rescue program in the Tri-State.

Our History

Our interest in rescue work began many years ago, and was fostered each time we picked up a stray, or visited the local humane society. Not restricted to Boxers at the time, we took in any animal needing our help. Over time, however, we became boxer owners, and fell in love with the breed. Their smushed-up litlle faces stole our hearts; their fierce loyalty sparked in us a devotion that continues to grow stronger. After several "unofficial" rescues, we decided to go into Boxer Rescue full-time, not entirely realizing what a commitment it would actually be. Starting with two dogs, our rescue averages five to six Boxers at present. As of September 2000, we became members of the American Boxer Rescue Association, and follow their guidelines, and code of ethics.

Our Process

Prior to adoption, our dogs are: - thoroughly checked by a veterinarian. - given all necessary shots. - wormed. - tested for heartworms. - treated for heartworms, if positive. - started on preventative, if negative. - given a Frontline treatment for fleas and ticks. - spayed or neutered. - behavior tested.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption process involves the following: - completion of an adoption application. - interview with the prospective parents. - home visit. - payment of adoption fee. - follow-up home visit two weeks after adoption.
