Patented Kuranda Dog Beds

We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.

We would like to give a huge thanks to Indiana-PAW for all of their help. They are a valuable tool in the education of Indiana residents. We look forward to working with them hand in hand to reduce the numbers of animals suffering in our shelter.

To donate a dog bed to our shelter please visit the Kuranda website at www.kuranda.com and go to donate a bed.

Who We Are

The Rushville Animal Shelter is run by Animal Control Officer Donnie Jarman and Assistant Animal Control Officer Jamie Glandon. We are a small town shelter with little room and lots of furry companions. We intake animals from our city and county. We are the only facility in our county for animals.

Adopting a friend

Please note- To adopt an animal from this shelter you must fill out an adoption application. You application will be approved or denied within 24 hours. If you live out of state please submit an application before you make the drive. We will not release an animal without an application on file. If you are interested in a pet you see on our site please don’t hesitate to call. We can’t guarantee a pet you see today will still be available tomorrow. We do our best to hold animals as long as we can although we do euthanasia for space. The Petfinder website is run by one employee so may not be updated daily, although we will try to have current information available for you. Most animals come to us as strays. We give you as much information as we can on the animals profile page. Our adoption fee is $35.00 for cats. Our fee for dogs is $45.00 which includes a microchip. All dogs have been given a 5 in 1 vaccine, dewormer, and one month of flea medication. Our shelter is very rescue friendly. We encourage any rescue that sees an animal they would like to please call the shelter or e-mail ShelterHelper1@yahoo.com Our application can be found at the bottom of each animals profile page or on our home page.

Come Visit Us!

We are dedicated to saving the lives of our animals and will help any way we can to get them to a new home.
