This is Second Hand Pets dream building. This building cost us about $3,000 to build.
The homeless and abandoned animals are calling out to you for your help to help us complete this dream building. So many animals are dumped in our small town and need a wonderful building like this to live in until they find their new families. Second Hand Pets is tired of seeing them roam the streets and going hungry and having no shelter from the elements.

Welcome to Second Hand Pets, we are a newly established rescue in the Boone County Indiana area. Since Boone County has no shelter we are here to help Second Hand Pets find new loving homes.
During our starting up period due to lack of funds, space and fosters we are only available to take small puppies or kittens.


Who We Are

Second Hand Pets is a small rescue run out of our home. We place animals left in our care in new and loving homes. These are the pets that others feel compelled to toss out like yesterdays trash. We like to refer to them as Second Hand Pets.
We currently have no foster homes only ours and don't have a facility. Each animal that comes to us is loved and nurtured until it finds it's special place in it's new families heart and home.
Since our county(Boone County in Indiana) has no shelter we help out any animal in need to avoid it being euthanized or dumped on the back country roads.
We will try to spay/neuter when able and get each pet a visit to the vet along with any necessary shots. If we are unable to get the pets spayed and neutered we will require proof after one month or at 6 mos of age that they were spayed/neutered. After proof the pet has been spayed/neutered $25 of the adoption fee will be reimbursed to the adopter.
We rely on you the public for funding so please if you can find it in your heart to make a donation we would appreciate it.
Our adoption fees will range from $125-$200 depending on the age and what we have had to do medically for the Second Hand Pet. Each pet will have their adoption fee listed on their bio page.
Once approved for adoption there is a $50 holding fee which is non-refundable
 Second Hand Pets does not make money on the pets we adopt out. Adoption donations are used to help the next Second Hand Pet that comes through our door and any supplies, food, vetting, etc.that they will need.
Along with doing rescue I also create educational videos for the public. If you have dial up these videos can take a few minutes to load.

Before you even consider giving up your beloved pet I want you to view this video, Dr. Death by Roxie Video Productions. If this doesn't change your mind then you never deserved to own your pet or any other for that matter. It's time that folks who so freely give up their pets as if they were yesterday's trash see what truly happens to the unwanted pets that they so freely turn in to shelters. Since they have no voices of their own I feel it's my duty to speak up for them!!!!!
