The ARK Fostercare Program was created to provide foster care for canines and felines at no-kill shelters, to educate and assist with "free" litters within the community, and to provide care for stray animals. With a small kennel environment, we are able to observe and care for each foster individually. The ARK also has a small cattery which houses up to 10 felines.
Our program also focuses on getting dogs into foster homes to gain as much information as possible on their personalities and individual needs. We hope to increase the chance for adoptable animals to find homes, as well as focus on training needs for adoptable dogs with specific concerns.
ANNUAL GARAGE SALE FUNDRAISING EVENT
Held in May. Details will be provided when location, hours, etc. have been determined.
ANNUAL COMMUNITY ADOPTION EVENT
Held in September at the Avon Heritage Fall Festival. We show our fosters at this large community event. Details will be provided when the specific date and time for the festival is set.
ANNUAL HALLOWEEN FUNDRAISING EVENT
Haunted House at 118 N. Vine Street, Plainfield, Indiana. This event is family oriented and is being sponsored by Katie's Professional Grooming.
Held in October. Details for our 2009 fundraiser will be provided when specific dates and times have been determined.
All proceeds go directly to the dogs and cats in our care.
OUR REGULAR ADOPTION EVENTS
Petsmart in Carmel/Westfield (US 31 North) on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.
Petsmart in Plainfield (Washington Street/US 40) on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Petco in Carmel (N. Michigan Road) on selected Saturdays of the month.

If there is a specific animal from our site that you would like to see, please send us an email. Make sure in your request you indicate which store location you prefer.

We have dog walks / puppy socialization sessions on Tuesdays all year round. You can walk one of our fosters or help socialize a young pup. This is good for them and for you!
