Winnie is one of the new babies at RASP. She, unfortunately, did not have the best start in life. She was removed from her home after it was found her former owner beating her. Even though she didn’t have the greatest start in life, Winnie loves people. She has some arthritis in her rear legs, and she was a little overweight when she came into the program, but she is doing much better now that she has lost some weight! Winnie would love a home to call her own, without any other animals. Please consider adding Winnie to your household.

Who We Are
RASP (Rescue A Shar-Pei) is a volunteer group with a concern for abandoned and abused Shar-Pei in Illinois/Indiana/Wisconsin and surrounding areas. Our purpose is to place such Shar-Pei into quality homes where proper care and love will be provided for life.
The dogs usually available for adoption are adults, although we occasionally get puppies; all of our rescue dogs are carefully screened for temperament and health.
All dogs adopted are spayed or neutered.
There is an adoption fee collected for each rescue dog which is used to help defray the costs to RASP. This fee is $275, depending on RASP's cost to get the animal back on his/her feet.
Each adopter will be required to fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.rescueasharpei.com. This information is used to match up the dog to the potential new home.
A RASP member will follow-up on the dog periodically to help with any problems and to evaluate the animal's progress.
We are also always looking for temporary foster homes. Please let us know if you would like to foster a Shar-Pei.
