We are located in Indianapolis, Indiana. We are not a shelter as such. Dogs are kept in private foster homes until they are adopted into their forever home. Our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworms and microchipped. Dogs are displaced from their original homes for many reasons. Our dogs come to us because their owner has died or gone into a nursing home. Some are given up because of a new baby in the family, a move to another state, a new marriage or because of allergies or illness. Some are brought to us by good people who find them dumped by the side of the road. We rescue any breed or mixed breed that is 20 lbs or less. We are a no kill rescue and only euthanize dogs that are terminally ill. We will not take biters.
Adopting a friend
In order to adopt one of our dogs you will need to fill out an application. A vet reference and home visit are also required. Then we ask that the whole family meet the dog. If you have a resident dog we will have the two dogs meet on neutral ground. We do this to make sure this will be a good match for everyone. You will be asked to sign an adoption form. One requirement is that the dog be returned to us should you find you are unable to keep the dog in the future. There is an adoption fee to help cover our expenses. We do NOT adopt small breeds to families with children under 5 years old.
Come Visit Us!
Because we have no central location you will need to either email or phone one of our volunteers to inquire about a dog or to see if we have room if you are wanting to surrender your dog.
