Volunteers For Animal Welfare, Inc. is a no-kill organization dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals; provide shelter, medical care and homes for homeless and/or neglected and abused animals, educating the general public about animal behavior, care and responsibility, including but not limited to, the importance of spaying and neutering. We’re an all volunteer, non-profit organization that does not receive funding from any governmental agency. Our funding comes exclusively from private donations and fundraising events. All donations are used to provide medical care for the sick/injured pets, to spay and neuter, heartworm testing for dogs, FIV/Leukemia testing for cats, all vaccines and necessary medications for all rescued animals before finding new suitable homes for them. We do not have a shelter. All rescued animals are temporarily kept in foster care homes of our volunteers. We do not limit our help to any particular county or area. We have volunteers in both Ohio and Indiana. We always welcome any offer for donations of time, supplies such as food, crates, toys, kennels etc. or money to help us continue with our efforts. You may call or write to fine out how you may volunteer or donate.

Do You Love Animals?
We need volunteers!!!!!!!!! If you can spare a few hours a week or even a month, there are various opportunities for volunteering to help our poor unfortunate homeless animals.
We are in great need for good foster homes to temporarily house a homeless pet till a 'forever' home is found. We will pay for all medical expenses as well as for food.
We also need volunteers to drive animals to Petsmart on Colerain Ave. Cincinnati, Oh.) on adoption days which are on every third Saturday from 11 am til 3:00 p.m. and also for occasional adoptathons.
We need volunteers to just go to Petsmart on adoption day, anytime that is convenient for you, to help walk the dogs, water them and play with them.
We also need volunteers to man booths on occasion for bake sales, craft sales and also selling raffle tickets for fundraising events. We could also use volunteers to bake cookies, cakes etc for the bake sales or make crafts fro resale at our fundraising events.
We could also use a volunteer to transport animals to the vet for vet appointments (spaying/neutering, vaccinations, medical care etc.)
If you think you might be interested in helping us to help the homeless animals in or around our community, please call us at (765) 647-3248 for more information on how you can help.
We look forward to hearing from you. Our four legged friends do too!

Our adoption process begins with completing an application, and potential owners will be interviewed & evaluated, before approval is given. V.F.A.W. reserves the right to approve or deny any application to adopt a pet from our organization. We do not adopt pets for resale or medical research. Each adoption will require a non-refundable donation, for vaccines, altering, and general care that V.F.A.W. has already provided for the pet, typically $165.00. Pure bred dogs and certain mixes run $ 185.00 on up. We use the services of a low-cost clinic to keep vet expenses down, and to make adoption affordable. Taking a pet into your home is a serious committment, and we will make every effort to ensure that the adoption is a good match for both owner and companion animal.
