I Wait

By Karen Tracer

Days into nights - Nights into days - Patiently - I wait -- For someone, anyone - To like me

An array of people pass by - Looking - Petting - Talking to me -- I wait

I do my antics - I strut my stuff - I sit - I stand - Chest puffed out - I bark - I purr -- I wait

I am homeless -- No family - No master - No love -- I wait - Patiently, I wait

For someone, anyone - to like me enough, to love me and take me home

I dream - I wait - I am homeless -- Like me, love me, please

I wait

If you are looking for a canine or feline companion to add to your family, please consider adopting a shelter dog or cat or both. Nationwide, only 20% of all family pets are obtained from animal shelters. Make a difference for these forgotten souls in 2011! Visit your local shelter or your virtual shelter on Petfinder.com.

And remember -

Please Don't Buy While Shelter Animals Die!!

Sadly, 2 to 4 million puppy mill puppies are sold each year while millions of animals at shelters are euthanized for lack of good homes. To feed this brutal industry, untold numbers of breeder dogs spend their entire lives confined to tiny and filthy cages, giving birth to one litter after another until their worn-out bodies can no longer reproduce. ~ Humane Society of the U.S.

Heartworm Disease Remains a Very Big Problem in Indiana!

HEARTWORM DISEASE!

This deadly disease is easily transmitted by a single mosquito bite. It is a FATAL disease, but can be treated if caught early enough. However, it is very expensive to treat.

It can be easily prevented with a once-a-month pill or topical solution. Talk to your vet about the preventatives available - DO NOT leave it to chance! Chances are your dog will lose! Indiana is in the TOP TEN states with a high rate of occurrence. Cats can get it too.
