Who we are:

We are a no kill, non-profit (we are a 501c3 org. all donations are deductible) humane society serving Clark County, IN and surrounding areas. Our mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education.

Our goals are to provide:

*Spay/Neuter assistance to low-income families and elderly people to prevent unwanted pets. We don't want someone to have to decide between paying a utility bill and fixing their pets. Stray cats and dogs carry rabies, fleas, worms, and other infectious diseases which can be transmitted to humans.

*Education for compassion to all creatures including people. Child abuse and neglect are directly related to animal abuse and neglect.

*Emergency veterinary care to owners of pets who cannot afford to take their pet to the vet. We want to prevent needless suffering of animals.

*Low cost adoptions of pets. For a $50-$100 adoption fee each pet is checked for heartworms (dogs) and leukemia (cats), given distemper and rabies shots, wormed, and spayed or neutered before adoption.

*Help with food and shelter for pets belonging to low income families. Sometimes people need a little help to feed their pets during times of crisis. Or perhaps a new, dry dog house with straw to help get a pet through the cold winters.

Adopting a friend

For a fee between $50 and $100 your future pet is check for heartworm (dogs), leukemia (cats), given distemper and rabies shots, wormed and spayed or neutered before adoption. We have a simple adoption form for you to fill out. You can access the adoption form at our main website.

The only pets we adopt without being spayed or neutered will be our puppies that are under 4 months of age. The puppies can be adopted, and we will arrange and pay for spaying or neutering when the puppy is 4 months old.

You might wonder how we can afford to do all this with our pets. We are able to do this because of our generous members’ donations that help offset the cost of our veterinary fees. We usually invest $150 - $200 per pet. These fees increase if a pet has heartworm, requires grooming or dental work, or any other expensive treatments. You can help us by donating either by check - you can get the form to print out and mail in from our website - or you can donate online with your debit or credit through PayPal. To donate online please use the 'Donate' button at the top of this page.
