Who We Are The Almost Home Humane Society (formerly know as the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginnings more than 60 years ago, AHHS has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in its community. We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non profit we exist through the generosity of our community. Shelter News AHHS is now hiring part-time staff members! Those interested can get an employement application at the Almost Home Humane Society. Rabbit of the Week CADBURY Mini Lop Cadbury is a 4 year old, neutered, Mini Lop and is currently in foster care. He's litterbox train so he has freedom to hop around the house in his foster home. He's been at the shelter for a while and would love a home with an experienced rabbit owner. If you are interested in learning more about Cadbury then e-mail us at cj@almosthomehumane.org	Dog of the Week CARMEL Shepherd/Rottweiler Carmel is about 6 years old and well trained. She knows sit, shake, down, and speak! She never meets a stranger and is an extremely strong dog so being walked with a gentle leader would be recommended. In addition, she enjoys riding in the passenger seat in the car and would more than likely love a spot on your couch.
