Here at Humane Society Calumet Area all of our pets are our featured pets! We have so many wonderful puppies, kittens, dogs, cats, and even a few wonderful Rabbits and Guinea Pigs. All of these animals deserve the chance to find their "forever homes". Please come in and pay them a visit.

Paws in the Park 2009
Join us for our 17th Annual Paws in the Park Walk-A-Thon and Pet Fair June 20th from 10am to 4pm at Wicker Park in Highland. Paws in the Park is a fun-filled day for families and their pets with activites, demonstrations, contests, and prizes! The day begins with a Walk-a-Thon for the homeless animals. Everyone is invited to participate. We only require that you love animals! For more information, visit our Web site
Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon
The HSCA is seeking runners and volunteers to represent us at the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon August 2nd. All funds raised go directly into Traveler's Fund, which provides medical treatment to animals with special needs. when you make a $2 donation. All donations will

The Humane Society Calumet Area, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. The purpose of the HSCA is to reduce the over breeding of domestic animals through public education and sterilization programs. One of our most important functions is to promote responsible pet ownership and to discourage irresponsible people from acquiring animals. The HSCA is not to be confused with The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana, Inc. which is located in Gary (Miller)Indiana. The HSCA houses strays and relinquished pets and is funded only through donations. We do not receive any goverment assistance. The following is just some of the services that the HSCA provides: Adoptions, Lost & Found, Foster Care program, Humane Trap Rental, Pet Therapy, Adopt-a-Pet programs, dog obedience, Humane Education, and more... Anyone interested in adopting from HSCA needs to fill out an adoption application; All of our animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee includes micro-chip, spay/neuter, an ID tag, a temporary dog leash or cat carrier, a flea bath, a goodie bag, and rental of a pet care video.
