Humane Society Calumet Area

The Humane Society Calumet Area, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. The purpose of the HSCA is to reduce the over breeding of domestic animals through public education and sterilization programs. One of our most important functions is to promote responsible pet ownership and to discourage irresponsible people from acquiring animals. The HSCA is not to be confused with The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana, Inc. which is located in Gary (Miller)Indiana. The HSCA houses strays and relinquished pets and is funded only through donations. We do not receive any goverment assistance. The following is just some of the services that the HSCA provides: Adoptions, Lost & Found, Foster Care program, Humane Trap Rental, Pet Therapy, Adopt-a-Pet programs, dog obedience, Humane Education, and more... Adopting a friend

Anyone interested in adopting from HSCA needs to fill out an adoption application; All of our animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee includes micro-chip, spay/neuter, an ID tag, a temporary dog leash or cat carrier, a flea bath, a goodie bag, and rental of a pet care video.
