Humane Haven Animal Shelter
Our Featured Pet
Dale is a calm adult mix with a wonderful temperament. On the "outside" he appears to be a Lab/Husky/Border Collie (at least!) mix. On the "inside", he's a Border Collie with a little Husky sprinkled in. He's smart and very trainable. He likes to be involved with his humans and is VERY affectionate (he loves hugs and is quite the snuggler). He's a talented fly catcher, who isn't fond of riding in cars, but is certainly up for trying out an SUV or van. He walks nicely on-leash. If allowed up on a bed he loves to lay on his back and wiggle. While he gets along well with other dogs, he'd prefer to have a live-in gal-dog as a pal. His favorite play friend at the shelter currently is Claire.

Our Mission
Humane Haven Animal Shelter (HHAS) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that has dedicated itself to the preservation and protection of the pets of our communities, serving as their voice, through placement of homeless pets in compatible loving homes and providing pet care awareness and education.
About Us
HHAS was founded by Carlotta and Kathy. Lifetime animal lovers, experienced in working with national and local animal rescue groups and humane societies, their dream became to provide a safe haven for their communities? homeless pets. They believe that together with support of other caring people in the communities, that they can help to reduce pet overpopulation, abuse and neglect.
Adopting a friend
We require adopters to be a minimum of 21 years of age and all members of the household must be interviewed. No immediate adoptions occur, i.e. a pet will not be taken home on the first visit to the shelter. It is our objective to ensure compatibility between the pet and prospective family to assure that a pet is adopted as a permanent family member. Adopters must live within a 2 hour driving distance of the shelter, 570 Concord Lane, Bolingbrook, IL 60440.
