Adopting a friend
Great Pyrenees Rescue of Central Illinois is looking for dog experienced, responsible, loving, family companion homes for displaced and abandoned Great Pyrenees. Anyone interested in adopting must be willing to fill out an adoption application in addition to being interviewed, allow a home visit and if approved, sign a legally binding contract in regard to the adoption. We ask for personal references and the name and phone number of your current and past veterinarian(s). Vet records must verify that current and past pets receive/have received excellent care, both in the case of illness/ injury and preventative care, including vaccinations, heart worm testing and heart worm preventative. All current resident pets (dogs and cats) must be spayed or neutered. A securely fenced property is required in most cases. The majority of our placements are as family companions but we occasionally get a proven livestock guardian into our program in which case we would consider a working placement. A securely fenced family farm situation may also be considered.
Come Visit Us!
Our rescued Great Pyrenees are shown by appointment usually after a completed application is received and initial phone interview conducted.
