We Are The Humane Society of McDonough County

We are a non-profit organization in the West Central Illinois Region that is aiding our local animal shelter in finding homes for stray and unwanted animals.

Attention All Animal Rescue Groups:

Our website is typically updated every Thursday or Friday.  The McDonough County Animal Shelter has established a minimum 21-day stay for all animals (barring problems with health or temperament). However, the Shelter's ability to keep the animals for this length of time is always subject to the availability of space and supplies to properly care for the animals. If your rescue group is interested in one of the listed animals please contact and make arrangements to rescue any animal as soon as possible.  Please call the animal shelter directly to make these arrangements at: (309) 837-2989.
