Midwest Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc.
We are always in need of foster homes for our rescued Labs. If you think you could provide a temporary loving environment, we would love your help. A Lab in your home means a spot has opened up in a shelter for another Lab waiting to be rescued. MLRR will take care of all medical expenses; all you need to provide is food, toys and lots and lots of love! If you are interested, please fill out a foster home application here and an MLRR volunteer will get in touch with you to tell you more about our foster program.
Who We Are
MLRR is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for unwanted or abandoned Labrador Retrievers. All rescued Labs are placed in foster homes where they can be evaluated for temperament and level of training before being adopted. MLRR currently serves Chicagoland city and nearby suburbs (Illinois only, we do not adopt out of state). Due to our limited number of volunteers, we cannot adopt dogs to people who live outside of this area.
Adopting a friend
We specialize in "Match Making". We know our dogs very well through speaking with the previous owner or shelter and through evaluating the dogs further while they are in foster care. We don't accept applications for a specific dog. Instead, we match applicants with the appropriate dog based on our knowledge and experience.
Before someone can meet one of the available Labs, they must first go through our adoption approval process which consists of two phases; 1-completing an application and 2-having a home visit conducted.
Please also note that the dogs listed here may not be the only dogs that are currently available, and we are always taking new Labs into rescue. All dogs are spayed or neutered and heartworm negative unless otherwise stated.
