Who We Are
When Jean Lazzaro, President and Founder of Cry for Help Rescue, starting rescuing dogs she never thought she'd end up running her own rescue. After saving hundreds of pets herself, she applied to become an official 501c tax-except animal rescue in July of 2008 which would allow the group to receive the donations needed to continuing saving homeless pets. Cry for Help Rescue received approval as an official 501c non-profit charitable organization in April 2009.
Cry for Help Rescue is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to rescuing and finding loving homes for animals suffering from abuse, injury, neglect and abandonment of our community. The goal of Cry for Help Rescue is to rescue and place animals into responsible homes where they will be loved and cherished for the rest of their lives. We help educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal treatment. Rescued animals come from animal control organizations, humane societies, and owner give-up situations within Illinois and Indiana.
All of our pets receive proper veterinary treatment before being adopted. This includes spay or neutering, micro-chipping, flea and tick preventatives or treatments, and all required vaccinations. Any additional medical issues we are aware of are also treated at that time. We strive to adopt only healthy pets.
