Who We Are
PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) Humane Society was founded in 1988. PAWS is a non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization.
We do NOT operate a shelter, instead we focus on spay/neuter assistance, humane education, rescue and adoption. All funding comes from donations or fundraising.
Adopting a friend
Visit our Cat/Kitten adoption center located inside Petco, 6305 East State Street, Rockford. If you are interested in adopting one of our furry felines, you simply fill out an application located at Petco and it is reviewed by our adoption counselors. Adoptions are based on a first come, first qualify basis.
Kittens 1 year and younger= $75 adoption fee.
Cats 1 year and older =$45 adoption fee.
All felines are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, FeLV tested, wormed, flea preventative and rabies (if age appropriate)
We have many adoptable dogs and the fees are anywhere from $175-$250 depending on age. Please visit our website to see where our next adoption event is going to be! You can also email us to have a meet n greet with a dog you are interested in adopting!
