Our Featured Pet... Click here for our fundraiser Pinto has been patiently waiting for his forever home. Pinto is thought to be a Doberman mix and is both handsome and well behaved. He does well in his foster home wiirlsth the resident Dobergirls, but deserves his own forever home. Pinto would be a perfect companion for an older person, as he is quite cuddle man. He is gentle and loyal and has the softest eyes and gentle spirit. Mugshot is an adorable Boxer mix that was rescued after his time was up at animal control. Mugshot is about a year old, and as sweet as can be. He does great with the other dogs in his foster home. While Mugs loves his toys, he is not opposed to sharing them with other dogs in play. He does not want to always drop them though, and will trade in exchange for treats :) The perfect home for Mugshot will include a fenced yard and a commitment to training as he certainly needs some direction.

Who We Are

In the beginning, There were just two of us. We had been involved with Rescue, volunteering, fostering and transporting for various groups. While we continued to do this, there was such an incredible need in our own local community for rescue. Though we were just a couple of people, we could make a difference one dog at a time. We work closely with animal control, owner surrender situations, and high kill shelters. Over time, our little rescue has grown. We have successfully placed many homeless orphans into their forever homes and continue to receive many Success stories. Since we do not have a shelter, our orphans are in foster care in the homes of our volunteers. They live with our own families, our own dogs and in some cases cats. It allows us to properly evaluate them on a daily basis and determine what type of home they need to flourish and succeed. We are in the process of becoming a 501C3, not for profit organization. All we are able to accomplish, is done from generous donations and fundraisers. 100% of all funds go directly into the care of our orphans. Providing them food, medical treatment and sending them home with a couple of things to make their transition easier. Every orphan goes home with their blanket or dogbed, some food, a bowl, and a couple of toys.

Adopting a friend

So you've seen an orphan that you may be interested in..What's next? First, contact us at Causeforpawsrescue@gmail,com and you'll be sent an application. There is a review of the appliction, Vet refereneces are checked and in some cases, personal references are also checked. Then there is usually phone contact, where you have an initial phone conversation with the foster folks Since it is our main goal, NOT to set a family or a dog up for failure, a home visit is required, it is usually pre-arranged with the foster at that time, to bring our orphan to your home to see if it is a good fit. If distance is an issue, a home visit may be done by another volunteer or possibly another rescue closer to you. This is merely a time for questions and answers and a visit, NOT an inspection of your home. Please note: In the event you have already had a home visit completed by another rescue, and can provide a copy, we will certainly honor that home visit and another will not be required. Once an applicant meets with our foster folks and orphan, and it's determined this is a good match, we complete the contract and payment is made via check or cash. You are then given a one-week conditional trial-period to return our dog if this is not working out. -+NO refunds will be given after that time frame.. Please note, filling out an application does NOT guarantee an adoption. We have thoroughly evaluated our orphans that are in our care and try very hard to match the right pet to the right family and situation. We reserve the right not to adopt. Since we do not have a shelter, all visits must be pre-arranged with the foster family that has our orphan in their care. Cause For Paws
