The Lawrence County Humane Society is a Non-Profit 501 (c) (3) shelter which takes in, cares for, and tries to find homes for abandoned dogs and cats. They are a no-kill shelter. Animals are being brought to them in increasing numbers.
Presently they are caring for 81 dogs and 52 cats.
All work and administration is done by volunteers and funded only by donations and fundraisers.

We wanted to thank all of you who have adopted a pet from the humane Society! Since publishing this website, we have gone from 106 dogs to 81! That's 25 pets who now have a home!
What are the costs for adoption?
We require $75 for the adoption which includes a rabies shot, microchip, and to spay or neuter your pet.
