The land on McNeil Rd is officially ours. We are very busy designing the building and getting bids. We are hoping to be able to start construction this summer. We still need to raise more money so we can have the animals moved in before next winter. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting us. The ground is being excavated now to put the driveway, parking lot in and make room for the building.
We are in great need of more volunteers. We need people who are willing to help out with our cats. We have a lot more cats this year and it seems like we have less people to take care of them. We need people to come in at 8am and help with the cleaning of cages. After we are done cleaning we would love you to stick around and show the cats some love. We are open seven days of the week . If you can donate even a couple hours of your time one day a week the animals would benefit greatly!

Our Foster Program is up and running but we still need a few more homes that would be willing to foster puppies and momma cats and kittens. If you would be interested in being a foster home please email us at happytailshumanesociety@yahoo.com. At this time we only have two foster home but we have several animals that would benefit greatly by being in a foster home.
Who We Are
Happy Tails Humane Society is a non profit organization that supports a no kill animal shelter, totally operated by loving volunteers. Not only do we care for the animals in our shelter, but we also help unwanted injured, sick and abused animals in our community. We do not receive any federal, state or local funding, so therefore we rely entirely on contributions from caring animal lovers to provide for our shelter pets. Since we have no paid staff, all contributions received go directly to helping needy animals. At this time we have approximately 100 pets residing at Happy Tails. We are in great need of VOLUNTEERS to help care for these wonderful deserving animals. Not only do they need to be fed daily and have their cages cleaned, but we believe they need as much human contact as possible. A kind word, a tummy scratch, allowing a hand to be licked, etc are very important. Your payment is in the kisses, wagging tails, purring and being recognized as their friend. We also help to educate the community about animal related topics. If you would like a representive to come and talk to your group or organization please contact our shelter.
Adopting a friend
Each potential adopter will have to fill out an application that has to be approved by the members of the board. When the animals are adopted out they are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have had at least their first DHLPP or Fel leuk/Rhino shots. When adopting a dog and you already own a dog the dogs will have to meet at our shelter before the shelter dog is allowed to be released. Also if you have kids we like them to come out and meet the animal you are interested in. This helps us to be able to place the right pet in the right home. If you are interested in any of our animals please feel free to email us or call the shelter. You must be 21 years old to adopt one of our animals. If we do not answer the phone please leave a message with the lack of volunteers our focus is on the animals first and then we will return phone calls. We will only adopt in a 200 mile radius of our shelter.
