Who We Are
Aid to Animals is a Illinois shelter concerned with finding homes for some of the millions of homeless animals in our country. We take in cats and dogs. In the spring, there are many homeless pregnant cats who we place in foster homes. The kittens are spayed or neutered and then placed for adoption. The mama cats are spayed and also placed for adoption. Many times we also rescue dogs from shelters and holding facilities when their "time" is up. We try to rescue those sweet, loving animals that might find a home. We are strong advocates that adult dogs and cats can make the best pets for many reasons. Also, most potential adopters want puppies and kittens, however, when they realize the work and destruction involved, many times the kittens and puppies are given up to the shelter. Adults are calmer and learn quickly. They are extremely appreciative of the chance for a new home. Please consider an adult pet instead of a youngster.
DONATIONS: monetary, kitty litter, premium cat food (canned or dry), cat trees, large litter boxes, cat toys.
We need volunteers to assist at adoption days at local pet stores. Please help!
Adopting a friend
Potential adopters must complete the application. No adoptions will be completed on the same day that the application is completed. Because of the plethora of homeless animals and animals that are relinquished to shelters daily, Aid to Animals is very concerned that its orphans go to homes where they will live for the rest of their lives. Please understand that our concern is for our homeless animals and the delay is necessary to ensure that all animals are placed in "forever" homes. You may download it [here]
and fax it to Stacey Vrame at : (847) 458-6328.
