We rescue animals who would otherwise be put to sleep because of space limitations at humane societies and shelters.
Who We AreA non-profit No-Kill Welfare Group dedicated to house dogs from "death row" until we can find a foster home or their forever home. **In our first 2 years, we housed over 70 dogs and puppies and found homes for all but 10-which we still have. We helped other rescue groups by transporting over 80 dogs and puppies to new locations so they would not be put to sleep. We are incorporated and registered with the State of Illinois, Champaign County, Attorney General, and, the IRS as a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization. We rely upon public support for both money and items--leashes, bowls, collars, food, etc so that we can rescue as many animals as possible. All donations are tax deductible. In FY 2004 we took in $2873, but spent $3319.00. 90% of our expenditures are vet expenses. Other items include food, cages, collars, leashes, registering dogs with the county. All gas, time and resources (fences, housing, cages) are donated. All board members pay an annual membership fee to Last Resort Rescue.
