ABOUT US
Cause 4 Paws Rescue and Humane Society is a *non-profit Rescue that is not limited to dogs. If we have space we will help whatever comes along.
*We are in the process of getting our 501(c)3 status.
-Please be advised that we are NOT taking in any dogs or cats at this time, we simply do not have any space. -
We are a small no-kill operation that is only able to continue to function with the help of volunteers, foster homes, and donations.
The more volunteers and foster homes we have, the more homeless animals we are able to save and take in.
The more donations we receive, the more homeless animals we are able to help! All donations, large or small, are greatly appreciated!
ADOPTING
-Adoption Policy:
*We will not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.
*We will not adopt animals out to be used as 'attack dogs'or bait dogs
*We will not adopt to dog fighters.
*We will not adopt to anyone involved in any other aggression related activity.
-Adoption Process:
*1. A written application needs to be submitted. We will then begin the process. Please note; if the application is not filled out completely, it will only slow the process down.
*2. After the application has been approved, a home visit is scheduled.
*3. Upon a satisfactory home visit, an introduction can be made with the pet you are seeking to adopt.
*We reserve the right to refuse adoptions on information we gathered during the screening process.
*All animals are microchipped and as stated on our adoption contract, must be returned to us if there is a problem.
*No refunds will be given after 3 days.
*Home visits are required before any adoption is made, no exceptions.
*We will only adopt within a 60 mile radius of Chicago, IL.
*We will not adopt a dog to be an 'outside' pet.
*We reserve the right to terminate an adoption for any violation of our contract.

*Please be patient with our application process. We have been flodded with applications, and because we deal with a fairly large number of animals, it may take a few days to process your application. Your interest in adopting is important to us, we will be in touch!*
-Adoption Fees:
Adoption fees vary. Our adoption fees include: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heartworm testing, microchipping, and any other medical the animal may need while in our care.
We desperately need foster homes and volunteers to help us care for the homeless animals in our program.
*Volunteers and foster homes help us with animal care and socialization by providing positive interaction with the animals.
*Volunteers and foster homes also assist with transportation of animals to and from Vet visits.
Please help make a positive impact on the life of a homeless animal by volunteering!

Pet Cancer Awareness
Cats and dogs get cancer at the same rate humans do. Cancer is the #1 disease-related killer of our dogs and cats. Since we think of our pets as members of the family it is very devastating to hear about one of our own pets or anyone's pet who gets cancer.
The founder of Cause 4 Paws knows this all too well as she lost her beloved pit bull Darla to brain cancer on April 30th, 2010. Read Darla's story below by clicking on her picture. All of us at Cause 4 Paws ask that you take a moment to learn more about pet cancer, and to then make your family and friends aware.
The Blue Buffalo Foundation for Pet Cancer Research, through the Pet Cancer Awareness (PCA) program, is devoted to raising awareness about the warning signs of cancer, as well as educating pet parents about ways to minimize the risk....
Once at the Pet Cancer Awarness site you may make a donation to help Blue Buffalo & Petco raise money to fight this terrible disease and to find a cure.
