Gordon Setters are intelligent and loving family members. Contact us to find out more about the breed and about dogs available for adoption in the Midwest.
Who We Are
We are the regional rescue arm of the Gordon Setter Club of America, serving the needs of Gordon Setters in Illinois, southern Wisconsin, eastern Iowa and western Indiana. We network with other regional Gordon Setter rescue groups across the United States for the intake and adoption of Gordon Setters in need. We are licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture, as an animal rescue organization.
Adopting a friend
Adoption from our Program requires a written application that includes information about your family and your current pets. We ask for a personal and veterinary reference. We make a home visit to discuss dogs who would be a good match for your family.
We ask that all adopting families make a donation for the Rescue care of the dog they adopted. Medical and maintenance bills for most dogs in our care are approximately $275, so by providing that donation, you allow us to continue to care for other rescued Gordons. To the best of our abilities, we will provide a complete health record of the dog you adopt. Dogs are spayed or neutered before adoption, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped
Come Visit Us!
Our dogs are fostered in the homes of people knowledgeable about the Gordon Setter breed, so that we can have the best possible understanding of their personalities. We do not have a shelter building. We would be glad to send additional pictures and information about available dogs. Please contact us by email or telephone to receive more information and an adoption application.
