We have currently opened up a building fund to help kick off our plans of constructing a larger more efficient facility that can house the unwanted pets in our county until they can be re-homed. Pleae feel free to come out and visit from 9am to 2pm Mon-Sat (closed on holidays) we have limited staff at times we must go out on animal control calls and may not be here therefore it may be in the best interest to call before visiting if you are traveling. Who We Are
The Mercer County Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization. We are supported entirely by donations and a small fee charged to the towns of Mercer County to pick up and care for unwanted, stray, and abandoned animals. We are a open admission Shelter .That is a county operation . With limit kennel space... We have 6 inside outside runs and 3 extra inside runs in the back for isolation for dogs and 6 available spaces for cats.
With that said we hold a wonderful record of not having to euth any adoptable animal that has come through our doors for 3 years now!!! With the hard work of the staff and the many rescues we work with we have also been able to help out other neighboring shelters absorbing some of their animals also.
We rotate over a 100 animals a month through our small doors each and everyone becoming part of our hearts.

low cost spay/neuter (to be done immediatly to complete adoption process)
low cost feline lukemia and FVRCP vaccination
Dogs
low cost spay or nueter (to be done immediatly to complete adoption process)
low cost Heartworm test, distemper/parvo, and rabies vaccinations
