Our Featured Pet  - Charlie

This is Charlie. He is a Doxie Mix. A black & tan. He is neutered, UTD on his shots, and housebroken. He is 12yrs old. No health issues other than his cataracts. He has had a dental work-up and had many teeth pulled, but it hasn’t stopped him from eating dry dog food or hard dog treats. He’s a great kisser. Gets along with other dogs, Good with kids. He was an owner surrender. Charlie's adoption fee of $100 will be use toward rescuing and vetting hundreds of other animals who have been abused, neglected or have been surrender by their owners. If your interested in Charlie please begin by completing an online application at www.kcafpets.org and/or email us if you have questions kcaf304@gmail.com.

Help Us

Food Pantry - Our pantry is low, please help by donating unopened cans or bags of cat and/or dog food.

Foster Parents - We continue to rescue dogs and cats that are neglected or abandoned, we need foster parents that can provide temporary housing for these guys until permanent homes are found.

Volunteers- Looking for phone coordinators. If you are a good communicator, can work with Excel spreadsheets and can help field our calls on a 2 week schedule from your home, we want you!

If you are able to help with any of the above programs,

Who We Are

The Kankakee County Animal Foundation, a 501(c)3, is comprised of volunteers who have been dedicated to the needy and helpless animals in our community for the last 15 years. We are one of a few rescue groups that function solely on volunteers and donations.  We do not have a brick and mortar facility.  Our pets are in foster homes and thus an appointment is necessary to view any of our great pets. The assistance that we provide includes: humane investigations to help stop animal abuse; low-cost or free spay/neuter services; temporary foster care; veterinary care for animals in need; school programs on pet safety; and adoption fairs to place pets in loving homes. All of these services are provided through donations and fundraisers coordinated by our volunteers.
