Meet Genevieve!

Hey everybody, my name is Genevieve! I may be 2 years old and full grown, but I still have the heart of a puppy (and sometimes I think I'm still as small as one – I love to sit in laps!). I look like a shepherd-terrier mix and I weigh 49 lbs. I'm playful but obedient, and very trainable. I'm housebroken and generally well behaved in the home. When my family eats, I sit patiently in the corner, smelling all the wonderful aromas. I prefer houses with yards, so I can run around as much as I want. I love kids and your kids will love ME! Come meet me – as soon as you see me in person I'm sure you'll fall in love with my sweet (but stately) demeanor. Genevieve came to us with her litter of puppies, but is now ready for her forever home. Though she tested positive for heartworm, she has already had her first treatment and can still be adopted. She will need to be brought back for a second dose of meds on April 24th, and then she should be good as new. Genevieve's adoption fee of $285 includes: vet exam, heartworm test and treatments, flea preventative, DHPP (distemper-parvo combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, deworming, microchip and spaying..

Beauty...Our Beautiful Girl!

Beauty is gorgeous two-year old female. Beauty is so regal, and everyone that has seen her says that she is very elegant. She is a classic tabby with beautiful markings and has a very soft coat. She is quiet, reserved, and a bit on the shy side at first. Once she gets to know you, she's fine. She is a very caring kitty that will show love to her human once she feels comfortable with them. Beauty will do best with a single owner, no young children. She needs a patient, quiet owner who will give her lots of love. She really responds when given attention by her foster mom. She is a lovely kitty that deserves a great home. Won't you please consider inviting her in?

Who We Are

ADOPT-A-PET is an all-volunteer not-for-profit humane organization dedicated to saving the lives of lost, abandoned, neglected, abused or otherwise homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens in the Chicagoland area.
ADOPT-A-PET provides a safe refuge for each animal until a permanent loving home is found.

ADOPT-A-PET provides all necessary medical care for every animal. All animals are health-checked, vaccinated, treated for any medical problems. All adult animals are spayed/neutered before adoption or a participating vet's certificate is included in the fee for kittens or puppies too young to be altered before adoption.

ADOPT-A-PET makes educational visits to schools and community organizations to promote proper pet care, compassion for animals, spaying and neutering.

Adopting a Friend

ADOPT-A-PET adopts pets to Chicagoland families and adults, not to children, teenagers, or college students living in a dorm. Ideally, all members of the family should be present to meet the pet and the ADOPT-A-PET Volunteer.
