Who We Are

NAHS is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1979 to develop and implement animal welfare programs and services within Naperville and surrounding communities. Our goal is to protect animals and prevent animal suffering. While providing shelter and adoption programs for homeless animals, we also strive to educate the community on compassion, respect and kindness toward all living beings.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption process is really a matchmaking process. We work with you to find the right pet for your lifestyle and expectations. The Adoption Fees are $125 for cats 6 months and older, $175 for kittens, $200 for dogs 6 months and older and $250 for puppies. This includes a spay/neuter surgery, vet exam, vaccinations, microchip with registration, collar and ID tag.

We are open seven days a week for adoptions. Our hours are:
Mondays 5pm-8pm
Tuesdays & Wednesdays 1pm-6pm
Thursdays 5pm-8pm
Fridays 1pm-6pm
Saturdays & Sundays 12pm-4pm
