Food donations are needed to help feed pets of those that have lost their jobs. Also we are helping provide food for colonies of cats that our organization has come in contact. Please call if you can help donate for information on drop-off.

Our fee includes vet services as noted below. It is very reasonable and our kittens great!

Fees Falling... For Our Kit-Kats-- What is a Kit-Kat?

This is a kitten that is under a year old that is still considered a kitten but is older with some cat characteristics. One of these characteristics that stands out, is personality. It is always a plus to adopt an older kitten as our fosters know the kitten's personality.

Kittens 4 months and older will now have a reduced fee. Some of these would be kittens such as Katie, Rosie, Bebe, and Kiki. Our adoption fee will be $50.00 for these kittens. Won't you consider adopting one of our Kit-Kats?

Many cats, some pregnant, and kittens are still outside needing to be rescued NOW. It is hard to imagine how any animal can survive in our freezing winters with no food or shelter. All our animals are rescued from outside, so adoption helps us help those that will be facing the rest of their lives outside with many harsh winters to come. The time to help them is at hand and your adoption enables us to do this. Thank you

Who We Are

Second Chance Pet Adoption founded in 1995, is a not-for-profit, all volunteer rescue and foster home organization serving the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and surrounds.

We foster stray, abandoned, sick, or injured cats and kittens.

All are given routine veterinary care or any emergency care and then placed in private foster homes.

Most of our cats or kittens are fostered for two weeks before they are available for adoption. This gives us a chance to observe their personality and health. After a cat or kitten is placed into a foster home, they are given love, care, attention, and socialization in a safe and warm home environment. We are dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes.

Adopting A Cat or Kitten

Our adoption fee ($100.00) for cats and kittens includes veterinarian check, testing; Feline Leukemia (FeLV) Feline Aids (FIV) , and the 1st FVRCP vaccination, treatment for parasites and dewormed.

If the cat is 4 months or older, the rabies shot will be given. If kittens are still in our care, age appropriate shots will be given.

The adoption fee includes the spay/neuter at one of our vets. It covers the surgery ONLY.

Adoption requires completion of an adoption application and contract. We need application to be made in person and signed by adopter. The adopter must be willing to comply with our rules of adoption.

Come Visit Us!

Visitations can be made in our foster homes or at adoption shows. We also have numerous Adoption Shows in area pet stores. All adopted animals must go home in a pet carrier.

We Need Your Help

Friends of Felines

Can't adopt but would like to help out? Introducing our Friends of Felines Program. For just $20.00 a month, sponsor one of our fosters until adopted. This donation will provide food and litter for a month. Select a cat from our website. Please send your donation with a note as to which cat you wish to sponsor. You will receive a photo with information about the cat.
