N.I.P.R.A. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization staffed 100% by volunteers. We accept all purebred pugs into rescue, which we care for in private foster homes until we can find responsible new forever homes for them. Our pugs come from a variety of avenues including shelters, owner surrenders, puppy mills and even found wandering down the streets. All pugs that come in are vet checked, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and treated for any medical conditions before the adoption process begins. Adoption fees & donations are used solely towards the support of the pugs in our care. Money is used for vet bills, medicine, food, toys, and other supplies. Absolutely NO money is paid to volunteers for salaries or mileage. Any extra funds are used for rescue efforts. Our ability to accept animals is limited to the foster homes that we have available. We euthanize animals only in cases of irremediable health problems or other grave circumstances.
Adopting a Forever Friend
Completing the adoption application is a prerequisite to adopting a pug through Northern Illinois Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. The information you provide helps our adoption coordinators match you and your family with just the right Pug. Answer the form as completely as you can and remember that your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address are required. All adoption applications are subject to acceptance based on a review process that includes a phone interview, collecting information from references, and visiting the applicant's home. To complete an application, please visit our website ~ www.northernillinoispugrescue.org~ and click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left hand side of the main page.
Our ability to accept pugs is limited to the foster space that we have available, so the more foster homes we have – the more pugs we can help! If you have pug experience, live in northern Illinois, and would like more information on becoming a foster home, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and one of our volunteers will contact you with details on how to get started. NIPRA would not be able to do what we do without the help of our wonderful volunteers!
