You and your family are invited to join Wright-Way Rescue at our upcoming adoption event on May 17th at the Vernon Hills Petco located at 555 Townline Rd, Vernon Hills. We will have an "Open House" event, for viewing our available animals, from 9am through 3pm. There will be many available puppies, kittens, and adult dogs to meet and consider for adoption! We also will be offering appointments for pre-approved adopters wishing to meet a specific pet on May 16th by reservation appointement. To apply in advance, please visit our main website at http://www.wrightwayrescue.rescuegroups.org. This adoption event is a great way to meet our available pets and see what our organization is about! Trained volunteers will be on site to answer any questions you may have. Please remember to bring a copy of your lease if you rent your home, or we will be unable to process your application. Thank you for considering adoption! Please call our shelter for further information.

FUTURE EVENTS
We generally have adoption events every two weeks at the Vernon Hills Petco. Please keep checking our site for exact dates.
ADOPTION PROCESS
(1) Fill out an application thru our main web site at : www.wrightwayrescue.rescurgroups.org. We try our best to review your application within 2-3 days (we are in our office Mon-Fri). You may specify on your application a particular animal, or leave it blank for our suggestions.
(2) If your application is approved, and the animal is still available, you will be sent a conformation email letting you know when our next adoption event is, and when you can come and meet the animal you have applied for. Once your application is approved, the animal of your choice will be put on reserve for you. Please do not keep an animal on reserve if you are not serious. A reservation is NOT a commitment to adopt, it is simply an obligation to show up for your adoption appointment. If your application is approved, but the animal you have chosen is already spoken for, you will be sent an approval letter and will be invited to come to our next upcoming event to look around at our many other animals needing homes.
(3) Bring your family and existing pets to meet your potential new pet at our adoption event!
(4) If you fall in love with the animal you have met and feel like you can provide it a loving responsible home, and Wright-Way Rescue feels that it is a good match, you will be invited to adopt the animal. In order to complete the adoption you must agree to sign our ADOPTION CONTRACT. Remember is you are adopting a puppy under 6 months of age you must agree to send us proof of spay/neuter within (30) days of adoption. Failure to do so could result in loss of ownership!
(5) Keep in touch! People who adopt from our organization and encouraged to keep in touch throughout the years. We even have a family reunion picnic once a year to reunite past adopters, their dogs, and our volunteers!
NOTE: If you would rather not apply for a specific dog ahead of time, you may choose to attend one of our events in person to see our available animals. We will have adoption councelors and applications on hand to aid you in your selection.
WHO WE ARE
Wright-Way Rescue is a non-profit, state licensed, animal shelter. We are based in Chicago. We work with people one-on-one to help them find an appropriate pet. Adopters should be prepared to talk to one of our volunteers in person or over the phone and answer questions about their lifestyle, work/vacation schedule, previous animal experience, etc. We want the best for both dog and owner and will help you find an animal that not only needs a home, but will work in yours! The best way to get in touch with us is via email. We update our website several times weekly, but aplogize if we get behind! Most of the animals in our program are started on crate training and housebreaking. They receive basic obedience training (the dogs!) when possible. ALL animals are temperament tested prior to being accepted onto our rescue website to assure that they are good natured. Most Wright-Way Rescue dogs, unless otherwise noted, are good with kids, cats, and other dogs. Our felines are all litter trained and are also very friendly and compatible with families.
"THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME..."
It is true "there is no place like home", but we try our best to ensure each animal in our care is treated in a manner where he or she will be comfortable and healthy prior to adoption while at their "home away from home" here at Wright-Way Rescue. We have invested a great deal both emotionally and financially in making sure that our animals are well kept up and maintained. Each animal is given plenty of room to live, eat, sleep, and exercise while here. Our animals are fed a diet consisting of the proper nutrition levels in regards to their size/age category. In addition each receives daily vitamins and herbal supplements for optimal health and well being. They have water 24/7 except for our adult dogs who are undergoing housebreaking and have water approximately 15 hours of every day. Our staff can often be seen caring for our animals well into the night. We have daily employees who facilitate in the cleaning and feeding of our animals. Our vet is dedicated to seeing that all of our animals are healthy and ready for new homes. She is a valued member of the Wright-Way team has been an invaluable help at every health aspect of our animals, from spays/neuters to parvo virus treatments. While in transit our animals ride in airline approved crates. We make stops every couple hours to offer food/water to each animal. Our 2001' van is equipped with a separate, rear air conditioning system for the comfort of our animals. And last but definately not least, we spend as much time with possible interacting with each animal on a daily basis. Although they are housed in a shelter, it is a very personalized environment when compared to some others. We take the time to get to know each of our animals. So, there is "no place like home" but we do make Wright-Way Rescue animals homes' comfotable, sanitary, and happy while they are here with us for their hopefully short stay!
ADOPTING A WRIGHT-WAY RESCUE ANIMAL
Adopting a friend from Wright-Way Rescue can be a rewarding experience. Please consider carefully the decision to add a new dog or cat to your family. We only adopt to families who consider an animal to be an added "family member". Owning a dog or cat is a lifetime commitment. Over the years we have created many "happy endings" for dogs and cats who otherwise would not be alive. We would love for you to be a part of their story!
SISTER SHELTER
Wright-Way Rescue opened a new shelter facility in Southern IL in 2004. Our building, serves as a temporary home to many dogs, cats, puppies and kittens awaiting transport to Chicago to find their forever families. If you live, or are visiting the Southern IL area and would like to stop by, please call for directions. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! We are open by appointment only. Our phone number is (773) 353 9931 We are able to accept animal by appointment only, and of course as space permits. Please call ahead.
ADOPTION FEES AND REQUIREMENTS
Our adoption fees only begin to help us cover the costs of our efforts. All animals go home up to date on all basic medical care. Each of our animals are also TEMPERAMENT TESTED (with adults) prior to adoption. We take the time to get to know each of these animals so that our adoptions may be more sucessfull. Because each of our animals is very different we do not have "set" requirements. Each applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Fenced in yards may or may not be required for the dog you are applying for. We only adopt animals to indoor homes. A vet reference is needed to adopt. Microchipping serves as a permanent means of identification for your dog or cat. Adopters are required to provide their own leash, collar, and ID tag at time of adoption. If you have any questions, please let us know!
