The Animal Welfare League is a full service shelter with a clinic that is open to the public, a pet supply store and complete dog training services. All of our pets come with a 10 day health guarantee, all shots and Avid microchip. We even supply a leash and collar!
The AWL has a dog or cat for every family. As one of the largest shelters in the state of Illinois, we have the experience and resources to match you with the perfect companion. Visit our kennels today. You might just find your new best friend!

All donations are tax deductable and go directly to the animals in our care. The AWL receives no monies from state, federal or local governments. We depend on your generous help to survive.

The Animal Welfare Leage is located at 10305 Southwest Hwy. in Chicago Ridge Illinois.
Our adoption hours are 12 pm to 7:30 pm Mon. through Fri.
Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5:00 pm.
We receive animals from 8am to 7pm daily.
We receive stray animals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
After 11:00 pm a police escort is required.
