Our Featured Pet...

SADIE! Sadie is a purebred English Pointer that was rescued from an abusive home in Utah, where she was used for breeding only. She is registered. Sadie was underfed, undernourished, underloved, and undereverything. The owner were going to shoot her., because she couldn't have puppies. She is now spayed and is being fed and treated properly. A very sweet dog. Call (435) 867-4309 or email cjshome@dcdi.net. Be cautious of backyard breeder. There are to many people that don't care how they breed the dogs or cats. It's just for the money. Watch out for inbreeding.

News

h3>Who We Are There are six states where It is still a misdemeanor when someone is cruel or tortures an animal.. Arkansas & Mississippi N. Dakota & S. Dakota & Idaho haven't seen the light. Ranchers and Farmers don't want the laws to change. So what people need to think about, do they want to live in a state where someone who is allowed to mistreat an animal. Write to your State Legislator. I'm sorry we are no longer in business of rescueing dogs or cats. We are a small group of individuals who care about our furry friends. God created these little critters and made all of us the stewards of their care. Like Will Rogers used to say, I never met a man that didn't like animals that was worth knowing. A Home without a dog or cat is just a house. Remember to spay or neuter so there are no homeless kittens or puppies. The shelters get so full of them. There are never enough homes. This is all volunteer work. We did rescue animals from our local animal shelters and got them spayed or neutered and vaccinated. We foster them until they get adopted. If people would just spay or neuter there wouldn't be so many dogs & cats in the shelters. We had one guy from Cedar City, Utah that wanted to breed his pitbull with a husky we had in foster care. He just didn't understand the problem with that. The husky was pregnant at the time. But she was so skinny we had no idea. She later had one puppy. But it was too sickly to survive. The husky was later spayed and was adopted into a wonderful home. We tried to help a small dog in Cedar City, Utah that the owner didn't want because they tried to breed her with a large dog. She did get pregnant but the puppy was dead. So they wanted her euthanized. The vet tried to save her life but she was so weak that she died. When you adopt a pet that was dumped because the owner didn't want to give them the time or training, you will get a grateful dog or cat.. And you will get a very devoted dog or cat. All they need is love and understanding. They just need to be socialized. So we take our time with them. We can only take so many into our home. Many times someone has adopted a dog or cat from the Cedar City shelter not altered. Then later on the dog or cat gets pregnant, and the owner doesn't want it any longer. Either they take them to the shelter to be euthanized or just dump their puppies and kittens in boxes.. We are a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. We are supported by donations and pet adoption fees. Any donations that we receive are tax deductible. We are badly in need of foster homes for cats and dogs, as well as money for vet care, food, and other necessities. If anyone can help, please contact us. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adopting a friend

All animals that we adopt out are spayed/neutered and are current on vaccinations. We do charge an adoption fee. We don't "sell" animals. The adoption fees go toward spaying, neutering, feeding, vaccinations, and other veterinary care that the animals need, and transportation costs. These dogs & cats are very valuable. All you have to do is give them love. We also feel if you give an animal away free it takes away the value of the animal. We only adopt to people who want the cat or dog to be part of the family.. If people just want a cat just for mousing we tell them to get a mousetrap. We want the dogs & cats to be part of the family. If a dog or cat is transported by air, this cost is always paid by the adopter due to the expense. As we do not know the history or breed of most of the animals we rescue, we use the AKC dog book and the CFA cat book to determine breed as well as we can. Therefore we cannot guarantee the breed is as we list it. It is at best an educated guess.
