We are currently searching for dedicated volunteers to help administer our Internet outreach programs. This would include taking pictures, providing information about the animals for website uploads and entering the information into our database. Who We Are

Welcome to IDAHO FALLS ANIMAL SERVICES Idaho Falls Animal Services has been operating in the Southeastern Idaho city of Idaho Falls for many years. Up until 1999 we carried on business out of a small, antiquated animal shelter. At that time, the City of Idaho Falls determined that a larger, more modern facility was needed to house and care for the growing population of animals in our city. With our current facility, staff, and access to this web site we are looking forward to finding loving homes for the many pets in our care. OUR MISSION at Idaho Falls Animal Services is twofold: 1. Enforce the City of Idaho Falls’ Animal Control ordinances in order to protect the welfare of the residents and pets of our community. 2. To humanely care for the pets that are entrusted to our care due to various circumstances and, if at all possible, endeavor to return them to their rightful owners or find loving, adoptive homes for those in need of such through our adoption facility

Adopting a friend

After taking the time to examine our animals available for adoption, you may have the desire to welcome one of our pets into your life. GREAT! When adopting a pet from our facility, you must agree to 1) Give the animal proper and humane care, food ,water, shelter, exercise and all other necessities. 2) Provide the pet with veterinary care at your own expense on a yearly basis for booster vaccinations and as needed for medical problems. 3) Allow the Idaho Falls Animal Services to repossess ownership if unfavorable conditions regarding the care of the pet exist. Although we take every precaution to assure the health of our shelter animals, no guarantee of any kind can be given. If you feel that you are ready to accept the responsibility of a new pet in your life, be aware that all animals that are adopted from our facility will be spayed or neutered before you take possession of them. This, of course, is to reduce the problem of pet overpopulation and the subsequent euthanasia of unwanted pets. ADOPTION FEES Fees for the adoption of pets from our facility are as follows: Male Cats $45.00 Female Cats $65.00 (price includes low-cost spay/neuter) Male Dogs $75.00 Female Dogs $85.00 (price includes low cost spay/neuter and microchip implant) Dogs adopted to homes within our jurisdiction are also required to be licensed. Applicable City/County license fees are in addition to the above prices.
