Meet J he is a one year old Labrador cross. J has tons of energy and needs a job. He is very excited when in his kennel, he just wants out. Once you take him out he is a totally different guy. He walks on leash well and very treat motivated. With some socialization and training or job he would really shine. So if you would like to meet J to adopt him or he could use a good foster home, please contact the shelter.
What We've Been Doing
Things are kicking into high gear at the shelter, that's for sure! A volunteer program has been instituted and now the dogs in our care are getting a lot more attention and some much needed one-on-one attention/training.
It has really made a difference in the dogs!
How You Can Help
We can Always use volunteers, donation or any ideas you may have.
If you are interested in making a donation towards any of these projects, please use the email link at the bottom of this page. Anything and everything is very much appreciated by the four-legged charges in our care...as well as the two-legged ones!
And, please, ALWAYS SPAY OR NEUTER your pets. For their sake, safety and health!
Thank you
Thank you to Sawtooth Veterinary Hospital for their donation of the Bow Wow Park! We now have an area to let the dogs out to play and meet possible new owners. The dogs want to thank you for the bottom of their paws. This was a very generous and wonderful donation!
Black Dog Syndrome
Did you know that Black Dogs are generally the last to be adopted and are euthanised in shelters in much larger numbers? People may consider them too “plain”, or simply don’t notice them because their dark color makes them disappear in their kennels. What ever the reason black dogs are not given the attention they deserve. So PLEASE give our black dog and chance!
Who We Are
The City of Jerome Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization. We are primarily responsible for collecting and relocating dogs, but also aid in most animal complaints within the city.
Adopting a friend
Please come to the shelter and support us in our efforts to place our four-legged friends into caring homes. These animals do not deserve to be "thrown away" - they are loving, devoted and loyal friends and deserve so much better!
