Humane Society of the Palouse

Our Pet List

Description
We are a humane society that services Latah County. Our goal is to reunite animals with their owners and help find permanent, loving homes for those without owners.

We offer a wide variety of information and counseling for different species of animals and behavioral issues. We also offer obedience/behavorial classes to the public that run for 4 weeks that meet two times each week.

As we are a shelter, our population of animals is constantly changing so not all our animals are on this website.

Hours
We are open to the public Monday-Saturday 1 - 6:00pm. We are closed on all major holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years.

Lost & Found
For animals lost in Latah county, we recommend that people notify the Humane Society of the Palouse, located in Moscow, ID, at (208)883-1166 and the local veterinarians.

Please remember to have some form of ID on your pet's collar so that we or the police can return your loved one.

All dogs are now also microchipped through 24 Hour PetWatch. Our adoption fees also cover many extras that a dog might need when they come in

Policies
We have all our animals spayed or neutered before they leave the facility. Kittens are "fixed" when they reach two pounds and puppies are done when they are at least 8 weeks of age. All adult dogs and cats are done either when they arrive, if an owner surrendered animal, or after the 10 day waiting period. Our biggest goal is to stop the overpopulation of "unwanted" animals and educate the public on the benefits of spaying and neutering their animals.
