C.A.R.E. formally approached the City of Harlan in 2001 to initiate a rescue program for the impounded animals at the Harlan City Pound. Through agreement with the City of Harlan, C.A.R.E. voluntarily worked all animal rescues for the Harlan City Pound for the following 2 years. All vet work on the City Pound animals was sponsored by C.A.R.E., and other Rescues that became involved by accepting a Harlan rescue animal. All rescued City impound animals were spayed & neutered. C.A.R.E. has served many animals in need throughout the Midwest Region.
C.A.R.E. animals are evaluated and have all of their vet work completed before adoption. Adoption applications can be emailed. CareAnimalRescue@gmail.com
