Hello, welcome to our web sight! Our animal shelter is glad that you have visited our webpage. We are always dedicated to making the cats at our shelter at home as we possible can. Many of the cats and sometimes dogs that come to our shelter were in situations that were not very good. Our goal at B.V.C.R..L is to make the transition from what they were used to, to what they should be living in as easy as possible for them. Over population has and will be a huge problem in the US and at our shelter we strive to educate our possible new pet owner the urgency that there is to get their pets spayed or neutered. In some situations an adopter comes in and they think: "we like to see the birth and let our kids watch them grow up." In many situations, once the kittens or puppies have grown up they no longer want them. We are always looking for volunteers at our shelter and if you would like to volunteer please contact us at (712)-272-3709. If we are not there please leave a message, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We are currently celebrating our tenth year as a shelter and In June we had our open House followed by a garage sale. It was a huge success and we raised enough money to help start our heating funds for this winter. We have so many people to thank for making this open house so special God Bless each one of you who donated time and Money.. Since we first open the shelter, there have been many improvements that have been made. We now have a full heating system and there is all new flooring. Our last improvement that we are currently working on is improving the windows to more energy efficient ones. If you or someone you know is willing to donate some windows or just your time to help put them in we greatly appriciate it. We are Kicking off Phase 5 in Getting a building called Sassy Hang Out for the bigger dogs if you can help out financially please do so by memo it to our Sassy hang out fundraiser.thanks for all your support in 2008 and see how we improve in 2009!
At our shelter we ask for a monetary donations to help defray for the cost of keeping up the shelter and spaying or neutering the animals. We have all our older cats/kitten spayed and neutored with all shots on board. Our adoption fees start at $60 and go up to $75. When a cat is adopted we have all our adopters sign a adoption agreement to ensure that they will take care of the cat or kitten that they are adopting. To help jump-start our adopters they get an adoption pkg. To help keep our adoption prices down we could use a extra hand by donation cat food,.cat litter or even thinking ahead by helping with the heating expense. Here the L.P. contracts are still needed due to the rising cost of LP. Please help us out by making a donation towards either vet bills or our shoes for paws program(heating) We are run independently and we get no out side funds from any other local shelters. If you have and questions or concerns please call and leave a message Thank you for your support and like always your PURRRFECT match is waiting here for their new family . Please send your donation to Doctor Bullock DVM 2556 Mace Ave. Sac City, IA 50583. Attention to B.V. County Cat Rescue Account. These funds will go towards emergency vet bills.Thank you for your support. Call us for more information.
